Open house modules cover customer centric growth, strategic category management, strategic revenue management, introductory e-commerce strategy for FMCG, joint business planning and introduction to negotiation, available in-house only.

Food and Grocery Code of Conduct training

Training for suppliers covering changes to the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct, obligations, legal requirements, price negotiations, day-to-day engagement with supermarket retailers and real-world case studies. Delegates complete an online assessment and, if successful, receive the AFGC Code of Conduct certificate. Training is intended for commercial and accounts, supply chain, marketing, category and insights, and legal roles. Sessions are delivered in groups, in-house, virtually or online, by NextGen. Training should be conducted once every two years.

A full-day interactive course covering the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct, including retailer obligations, legal requirements, key provisions and applying the Code in negotiations with retailers. Suitable for commercial, sales, finance, category management, supply chain, regulatory and support teams involved in trading with retailers. Open training typically runs from 09:00 to 17:00 and includes catering. In-house training can be tailored to business situations. Virtual in-house training is delivered through Zoom or Teams in multiple sessions. E-learning includes 12 self-paced modules with video and case studies. Participants receive a comprehensive training manual at the end of the course.

A half-day refresher course covering the latest amendments to the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct following the 2024 review, including mandatory requirements, penalties, good faith, dispute resolution and retribution. The course uses real world experience and case studies and is for direct suppliers who have previously been trained in the Code. Training is typically held at a central CBD location and includes catering. Minimum of 12 delegates. A comprehensive training manual is provided.

Catering and audio visual facilities are to be provided by the host organisation. A comprehensive training manual is provided.

The same content as the in-house course is facilitated on Zoom or Teams, generally in 2 x 3-hour or 3 x 2-hour sessions across a maximum of 3 weeks. Delegates require a computer with browser access, speakers and webcam. A comprehensive training manual is provided.

It is designed for direct suppliers who have completed the Refresher program and understand the FGCC and the 2024 updates. Open sessions typically run in the afternoon directly following the Refresher, while in-house sessions are hosted by the organisation. Virtual in-house sessions use Zoom or Teams and are generally conducted in 2x3-hour or 3x2-hour sessions across a maximum of 3 weeks. Open attendance requires a minimum of 12 delegates, and the ideal in-house attendance is 12 to 15 delegates.
