Torys is seeking a junior patent agent to join its dynamic, fast-paced Toronto practice. The role requires two to three years of experience as a technical consultant or patent agent at an intellectual property law firm or IP group, strong judgment, attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, initiative and personal accountability. Responsibilities and experience include drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, advising on intellectual property rights, conducting IP due diligence, evaluating department systems and procedures, and applying business, biology and science skills to client issues. Applicants must be registered patent agents. The role offers a hybrid working model with the option to work from home an average of two to three days per week.
