Full-time salaried teaching role based at the Learning Hub, TCW South School. Deliver English to a high standard to students of all ages, abilities and needs on a one-to-one or small-group basis, oversee offsite teachers and student progress, and support the English Lead with training, moderation, curriculum development and department administration. Teachers deliver education using creative approaches for students who cannot access mainstream education, including students with SEN, medical needs or permanent exclusions. Responsibilities include teaching up to 30 hours per week, planning and adapting lessons, delivering English, Maths and Science to at least foundation GCSE level when required, entering students for qualifications, marking and assessing work, reporting on progress, providing pastoral care, guiding teaching assistants, maintaining lesson records, covering sessions and working onsite or offsite as required. Essential requirements include an honours degree or equivalent professional qualification, or relevant professional experience working with young people in an educational setting, experience delivering high-quality lessons, knowledge of current curricula, SEN and behavioural needs, teaching practices, pedagogy and safeguarding, and the ability to teach English, Maths and Science to foundation GCSE level. Candidates should have English, Maths and Science qualifications at GCSE level or equivalent, and an A-level or equivalent or above in an English subject. Comprehensive experience teaching English to students with behavioural and/or special educational needs is required. Qualified Teacher Status, relevant A-levels, creative environment experience, a creative background and charity experience are desirable. The role works Monday to Friday during term time, with additional training days and some activities outside standard hours. Salary is from £30,924.16 FTE per annum, including a responsibility allowance. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
