Full-time Science Teacher based at the Learning Hub South School, with offsite work across London Zones 1 to 6. The role delivers Science to a high standard to students on a one-to-one or small-group basis, supervises offsite teachers delivering Maths, and works with the Science team and Science Lead on training, development, marking and department operations. Duties include teaching up to 30 hours per week, planning creative and tailored lessons, overseeing student progress, entering students for agreed qualifications, marking and assessing work, completing reports and session records, providing pastoral care, supporting teaching assistants, attending training and observations, and contributing to safeguarding and student development. Applicants need an honours degree or equivalent professional qualification, or relevant professional experience with young people in an educational setting, the ability to teach Science to foundation GCSE level, GCSE grades A* to C or equivalent in Maths, Science and English, teaching experience, knowledge of current curricula, SEN and behavioural needs, safeguarding and pedagogy, plus strong organisation, communication, administration, IT and teamwork skills. Qualified Teacher Status, science qualifications, experience teaching students with behavioural or special educational needs, and experience in creative or charity settings are desirable. Salary from £30,900 FTE per annum. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
