Hanover Bank is seeking a full-time Commercial Underwriter II in Hauppauge, New York. The role underwrites commercial C&I and CRE loans, analyzes character, collateral, cash flow, capital, and conditions, and makes objective credit decisions while ensuring compliance with company policies. Duties include reviewing credit files and financial documentation, performing underwriting stress tests, preparing credit memoranda, supporting incomplete loan packages, communicating with clients and lending officers, conducting portfolio management, performing annual reviews and risk rating recommendations, monitoring debt service and collateral coverage, assessing market conditions, and handling extensions and modifications. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, preferred but not required, six to ten years of CRE and/or C&I underwriting experience, and formal credit training or equivalent experience. The position requires financial statement spreading and credit analysis knowledge, Microsoft Office proficiency, familiarity with lending software preferred, adaptability, multitasking, teamwork, and strong verbal and written communication.
