Permanent role based in APAC, either in Tartu, Estonia or remotely, reporting to the CTO. The role supports Mercans' AI-native infrastructure strategy and product and engineering delivery through hands-on automation, GitLab DevSecOps pipelines and resilient platform operations. Responsibilities include building and maintaining a secure, cost-efficient private cloud for hyperscale payroll processing and AI model training and inference, automating CI/CD and infrastructure provisioning, operating GPU-enabled Kubernetes clusters, implementing observability and SRE practices, embedding security and compliance controls, standardising AI model and product release processes, and producing documentation and knowledge-sharing materials. Applicants should have 4 to 6 or more years of experience as a DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineer operating production-grade Kubernetes systems and CI/CD pipelines, experience with private cloud or on-premises Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code tools, experience with GPU workloads, programming ability in Python, Go or a similar language, knowledge of observability, incident management, SRE, secure software delivery and secrets management, proficiency with GitLab DevSecOps, and strong English communication, documentation and time-management skills.
