Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services is seeking a Chief Finance Manager to provide financial, procurement and contracting leadership for a complex organisation with approximately £120 million turnover and around 15 whole-time equivalent staff. The role is a key member of the BSPS Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for financial performance, short and long-term planning, financial sustainability, financial reporting, budgeting, business planning, procurement, contracting and commercial activity. Duties include leading the BSPS finance team, presenting financial plans and reports to the BSPS Executive, Board and Finance and Investment Committee, overseeing financial arrangements across five Trusts, leading procurement, managing contract negotiations and disputes, developing pricing and costing models, overseeing bids and commercial opportunities, and monitoring contract performance and service level agreements. The post holder will report to the Deputy Managing Director of BSPS and line manage finance, procurement and contract leads. Essential criteria include masters-level education or equivalent, CCAB or CIMA qualification with relevant post-qualification experience, expert understanding of the NHS financial regime, significant strategic-level experience in an NHS or equivalent complex operating environment, experience managing multi-million pound budgets, contract negotiations, change management, business improvement, senior stakeholder engagement and complex business cases. Strong IT, communication, negotiation, influencing, organisational and leadership skills are required, along with the ability to work across all BSPS sites.
