An in-person assessment of memory, language, visuospatial ability, executive function and attention, usually using the validated Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination, ACE-III. The assessment is conducted and interpreted directly by the consultant, with findings considered as a pattern of strengths and weaknesses rather than a total score alone. In selected cases, a more detailed episodic memory precision assessment may be undertaken when clinically indicated.
