Heitman is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join its North American private equity team in Chicago. The role manages a diverse self-storage real estate portfolio and includes developing and implementing asset management strategies, forecasting income and expenses, managing capital budgets, analysing value creation and risk-return opportunities, evaluating performance against budgets and benchmarks, using data analytics to improve performance, overseeing property management teams and joint venture partners, implementing value-add initiatives, preparing budgets and valuations, leading financial modelling, supporting acquisitions and financing activities, leading dispositions, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership and investment committees. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant real estate investment experience, including 5 years of asset management experience, with self-storage experience preferred. The role requires expertise in asset management strategy, financial reporting, budgeting, valuation, appraisal, financial modelling, due diligence, legal documentation, market analysis and third-party partner oversight, along with strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and mentoring skills. The position is based in the Chicago office, operates in a hybrid environment, and requires moderate to extensive travel.
