Lead accounting functions for a privately held, multi-billion-dollar aerospace and defense company undergoing AI transformation. Reporting to the VP of Accounting and Corporate Controller, the role oversees general ledger, technical accounting, reporting, travel and expense, and broader accounting process automation. Responsibilities include GAAP and FAR/DFARS compliance, financial reporting accuracy, system controls, executive financial insights, accounting policy enforcement, managing and mentoring a team of 20, automation, AI tool adoption, and audit support. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, 15 or more years of accounting experience with 8 or more years in senior management, advanced accounting and reporting expertise, ERP proficiency, large-team management, CPA certification, regulatory knowledge, and strong leadership and communication skills. Aerospace and defense, SEC reporting, Deltek Costpoint, FAR, DFARS, CAS, and IFRS experience are preferred.
