Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is recruiting first year transitioning Registered Nurses for its Transition to Professional Practice, Population and Community Health Stream. The 12-month program includes a six-month rotation in an acute inpatient area at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital, followed by a six-month rotation in a primary health setting. Rotations may include Child Youth and Family Services, the Public Health Unit, Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health Services, the Kirketon Road Centre, HIV Outreach, the Albion Centre, Drug and Alcohol Service, and Integrated Care. The program provides a five-day corporate and tailored nursing orientation, local unit orientation, ongoing support from preceptors and clinical resource staff, education sessions, study leave, reflective practice supervision, NSW Health uniforms, annual leave, career pathway planning, and a Certificate of Achievement on completion. Nursing employment may be available after completion, subject to position availability. One intake commences in February 2026.
