Join the first year Transitioning to Professional Practice Registered Nurse program at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital. The 12-month program is designed to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge to provide safe, quality, compassionate and person-centred care in a supported clinical learning environment. The Metro/Rural Exchange Stream includes a five-day corporate and tailored nursing orientation, local unit orientation, a six-month rotation in the Emergency Department at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital followed by a six-month rotation with Far West Local Health District, and ongoing support from preceptors, clinical nurse educators, clinical nurse consultants and a nurse manager. Benefits include education sessions, access to hospital-wide in-service programs, study leave, reflective practice supervision, NSW Health uniforms, annual leave, individualised career pathway planning and development, and a certificate of achievement on completion. Nursing employment may be available after completion, subject to position availability. One intake is offered during 2026, commencing in February.
