Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is recruiting first year transitioning professional practice Registered Nurses for a 12-month General Stream program. The program includes two rotations across a variety of clinical departments, units and wards, a five-day corporate and tailored nursing orientation followed by local unit orientation, and ongoing support from preceptors and clinical resource staff. Participants develop skills and knowledge to provide safe, quality, compassionate and person-centred care in a supported clinical learning environment. The program includes regular education sessions, access to hospital-wide in-service programs, study leave, reflective practice supervision, NSW Health state-wide uniforms, annual leave, individualised career pathway planning, a certificate of achievement on completion, and potential nursing employment after completion based on position availability. Full-time and part-time positions are available subject to availability. Two 2026 intakes commence in February and May.
