Working Monday to Friday for 35 hours per week, with evening work on occasion, the Employment Specialist will support people with additional support needs on their employment and recovery journey, helping them find and retain meaningful paid employment. The role is based in Enfield, with four days onsite or in the community and one day from home, and reports to the Team Lead. Responsibilities include managing a caseload of 20 to 25 people, vocational profiling, job matching, action planning, employment case management, rapid job search, assessing work-related support needs, and providing personalised in-work support. The role also involves sourcing job opportunities, engaging with employers, negotiating adjustments, building relationships with training providers and partner organisations, promoting the service, attending weekly team meetings, maintaining accurate records, and meeting engagement, job and job retention targets. The postholder will implement the Individual Placement and Support model and will receive guidance, professional supervision, in-depth IPS training, and access to Working Well's training and development opportunities. Essential attributes include strong motivational, communication, listening, organisational and interpersonal skills, the ability to build trusting relationships, work collaboratively and independently, empathy for people with mental health or health support needs, resilience, and a willingness to travel within a designated locality. Experience supporting people with health support needs, working one-to-one, managing multiple tasks, influencing decision makers, and supporting people to obtain or retain work is required. Minimum qualifications include five GCSEs or equivalent at Level 2, including English and maths.
