Paid, remote fixed-term panel appointment for 36 months, with an expected commitment of around 20 days per year. The role will provide insight into the evolution of demand in the GB electricity system, focusing on short to medium-term capacity adequacy drivers, macroeconomic effects, electrification, electric vehicles, efficiency and demand-side responses. Essential expertise includes analysis of one to eight year electricity demand drivers in GB, consumer-led flexibility technologies, wider electricity demand system developments, and the effects of decarbonisation and system change on adequacy and demand forecasts. Panel members review and scrutinise the Electricity Capacity Report, contribute to the annual PTE report, attend regular virtual meetings, and provide feedback to DESNZ, NESO and Ofgem.
