Performs technical and administrative duties to manage assigned medical malpractice claim files and participates in the continued training and supervision of Claims Specialist I employees. Duties include managing claims and defense counsel, investigating and evaluating files, interviewing members, reviewing medical records, obtaining expert opinions, preparing case evaluation reports, managing litigation activity, monitoring trials and arbitrations, preparing resolution documentation, updating claims databases, investigating coverage issues, reviewing and indexing documents, taking Hotline calls, attending meetings, and assisting with training. Requirements include a bachelor's degree, relevant legal or medical education or equivalent experience, at least three years of medical malpractice claims management experience or one year of CAP claims experience, and a valid California driver's license. The role requires strong verbal and written communication, time management, prioritization, computer, and analytical skills. Salary range is $110,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on experience.
