School Access and Engagement Lead

The School Access and Engagement Lead will play a key strategic and operational role in improving pupil engagement, attendance, emotional regulation and access to education across the school. Responsibilities include leading interventions to improve attendance, punctuality and engagement, supporting pupils experiencing barriers to attendance including EBSA, developing personalised engagement and reintegration plans, monitoring attendance data, working with families, completing outreach and home visits where appropriate, and supporting transitions. The role also promotes Positive Behaviour Support, supports emotional regulation and restorative approaches, works with families and external agencies, contributes to safeguarding discussions and Team Around the Child processes, supervises members of the engagement and intervention team, and leads the development, implementation and evaluation of the school's attendance and engagement strategy. Applicants should have strong relational and restorative practice skills, experience working with autistic and/or neurodiverse pupils, experience supporting pupils with barriers to attendance and engagement, and experience working collaboratively with families and external agencies. A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience is essential. The post requires an enhanced DBS disclosure.
