Full-time position supporting Indigenous clients navigating the BC justice system. Duties include providing support on court procedures and processes, arranging or attending court and legal appointments, assisting with affidavits and legal forms, providing referrals, maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation, building partnerships with supporting agencies and programs, and ensuring cultural support. Requires at least two years of criminology or directly related work and lived experience, knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions, some knowledge of justice systems and criminal procedures, effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to travel, and a Class 5 driver's licence. The successful candidate will be subject to a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check. Based at the Terrace Courthouse and covering Terrace, Kitimat, New Aiyansh, Prince Rupert, Dease Lake and Stewart. Salary is $57,716.64 to $67,204.98 per year, as per the BCGEU Salary Grid.
