Ultrasound Guided Steroid Injection

at Ultrasound Guided Injections · London

Details.

Local corticosteroid injection using ultrasound guidance to target pain and inflammation. The clinician performs a clinical examination and ultrasound scan, selects the appropriate steroid and dose, and injects it into the inflamed joint or soft tissue area. Local anaesthetic is used for the vast majority of injections. Patients with diabetes should discuss treatment with their GP before booking. Avoid driving if local anaesthetic causes numbness, avoid strenuous exercise for around two days after a joint injection, and avoid heavy impact and strenuous loading activities for 10 to 14 days after an injection around a tendon.
