Ultrasound-guided Arthrosamid hydrogel injection for knee osteoarthritis. Includes a clinical examination, diagnostic ultrasound assessment, local anaesthetic, precise injection into the knee synovial cavity and a plaster over the injection site. Joint fluid may be aspirated before the injection if needed, at no extra cost. Patients must complete medical screening and written consent before booking, and take preventative oral antibiotics 1 to 2 hours before the injection. Suitable for people with knee osteoarthritis causing pain and swelling that may affect daily activities. An X-ray or MRI scan within the last 12 months is usually requested. Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for 10 to 14 days afterwards and remain at the clinic for 20 minutes following the injection for observation.
