Minimally invasive Sinus Laser Closure treatment for pilonidal disease using a radial fibre connected to a diode laser, with ultrasound assistance to identify pits, branching tunnels and abscesses. Performed as a clinic-based day case under local ultrasound-guided tumescent anaesthesia. The natal cleft is not affected, wounds are small and do not require packing, and patients may experience less pain and a faster return to work and daily life. Patients are advised to keep the natal cleft hair free before surgery, take prescribed antibiotics one week before the procedure and not fast on the day. Aftercare includes keeping the wound dry for two weeks, using the provided dressings, attending a two-week clinic review, avoiding swimming and bathing until healed, and returning to work when comfortable, with most patients returning after 24 hours.
