Details.
A minimally invasive treatment for venous incompetence and varicose veins. A catheter is inserted into the affected vein under ultrasound guidance, the leg is numbed with local anaesthetic, and the vein is sealed as the catheter is removed. A compression dressing is applied for one night, followed by a compression garment for seven days or as instructed. Results are evaluated with ultrasound a few weeks after treatment. Further treatment, such as ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy or microphlebectomy, may be recommended for remaining branches.
