Blood Donor Program
Eligible pets joining the blood donor program receive a $100 Petbarn voucher, a free full physical examination with each donation, and a free blood test with each donation. Donor candidates undergo health screening. Donations are spaced at least every three months. Dogs must have a good temperament, be aged 1 to 8 years, weigh more than 25kg, be up to date with vaccinations, tick prevention and heartworm medication, be in good health with no serious illnesses or long-term medications, and have never received a blood transfusion. Cats must have a good temperament, ideally be indoor cats, be aged 1 to 8 years, weigh more than 4kg, be up to date with vaccinations and prevention medications, be in good health with no serious illnesses or long-term medications, and have never received a blood transfusion.

Free Surgical Consults
CARE Specialist Surgery offers free surgical consultations with the specialist surgery team, with no obligation to proceed with surgery. Consultations are available for pets referred for complex procedures or for second opinions. The consultation can be conducted by phone, video or in person at the Collingwood hospital. A referral from your vet is required, and the consultation includes a case review, personalised discussion, treatment recommendations, and clear next steps including a written treatment plan and cost estimate.
