Interns are trained and assigned appropriate patients to provide individual and group counseling, perform screening and intake interviews, provide case management services when necessary, maintain accurate clinical records, and attend weekly staff meetings and in-service training seminars. Candidates must be available for at least 16 to 20 hours per week, be fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin, and preferably commit for one year. Candidates must have a CASAC-T or be enrolled in a master's program in psychology, counseling, or social work, with an interest in working with the Chinese population and excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
