The Recovery Counselor Student Intern/Volunteer is trained to perform screening and intake interviews, provide individual and group counseling under supervision, maintain clinical records including progress notes, comprehensive evaluations, treatment plans, and patient progress reports, provide information about addiction issues and available services, make appropriate referrals, provide case management services, support program administration and community outreach, and attend staff meetings, supervision, and in-service training. Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in psychology, counseling, or social work, have an interest in working with Chinese-speaking populations, commit to a full calendar year, and speak at least one Chinese dialect fluently.
