CSNSW offers placements to undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students across diverse program areas, including generalist psychology, drug and alcohol treatment, high intensity and short sentenced intensive programs, violent and sexual offender programs, mental health services, serious offender assessment, personality and behavioural disorder services, countering violent extremism, high risk offenders and disability services. Board approved supervisors are available for Professional, Clinical and Forensic students, subject to supervisor availability and operational priorities. Placements are available across metropolitan, rural and remote locations, including correctional centres and community corrections offices. Students must apply through their university placement coordinator and submit a cover letter, resume or CV, coordinator statement of support and university indemnity insurance. Applications are reviewed for suitability and supervisor availability, and placements are subject to positive probity checks. Some rural and remote locations may offer affordable onsite staff accommodation. Probity checks can take up to 6 weeks.
