PHS Health Care is looking for a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join a frontline medical clinic in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. The role provides full-scope practical nursing functions in a primary care setting focused on harm reduction, addictions and mental health. Duties include delivering low-barrier primary care and mental health and addictions treatment, completing assessments and care documentation, administering prescribed treatments and medications, providing wound management, monitoring progress and behavioural changes, supporting clients with mental health and substance use issues, and providing education and support using health promotion, harm reduction and community-building approaches. Applicants must graduate from a recognized Licensed Practical Nurse program, hold current practising registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, and hold current CPR-HCP certification. Two years of recent full-scope Licensed Practical Nurse experience in mental health or substance use settings is preferable. Applicants must also complete the BCCDC Online Immunization Competency Course or be willing to do so shortly after starting, and have or obtain additional training required for the role, such as phlebotomy. This is a unionized position with a supportive interdisciplinary healthcare team and opportunities for longitudinal relationship-building and creative care planning.
