PHS Community Services Society is seeking casual Home Support Workers for frontline positions supporting marginalized people at properties in Vancouver and Victoria. Duties include cleaning resident rooms, maintaining shift reports and checklists, laundry, de-hoarding, harm reduction, safety and security measures, crisis intervention, overdose response, supporting resident transitions, responding respectfully to concerns and requests, de-escalating hostile interactions, and monitoring and assisting with residents' pets. The role works as part of a collaborative, supportive multidisciplinary team and offers flexible monthly scheduling, opportunities for additional hours, weekend premiums, family assistance program access, and potential progression within PHS. Current First Aid and CPR certification is required. Experience working with marginalized populations is an asset, along with a non-judgmental, compassionate harm reduction approach. A Class 5 Driver's Licence is preferred. The position involves weekdays and sometimes weekends, but not nights, and is unionized under CUPE 5536.
