Veterans Legal Services is accepting applications for full-time or part-time unpaid law student advocate internship positions for Fall 2026. This hybrid position includes in-person and remote work. Responsibilities include speaking with veterans seeking legal services, conducting intake interviews, attending in-person legal clinics, managing a caseload under an attorney's supervision, communicating with clients and opposing parties, conducting legal research, drafting memos, pleadings, and other court documents, assisting with case assignment to the volunteer attorney panel, and completing administrative tasks as needed. The internship may include presenting at a court or agency hearing and offers substantive client interaction for law students interested in public interest law, civil rights issues, or supporting veterans. Applicants must commit to at least 10 hours per week for 15 weeks, beginning on or about August 31, 2026 and ending on or about December 11, 2026. The position is unpaid, with no salary or stipend.
