The project will assess the cross-sectional and longitudinal association between informal caregiving and low back pain in the general population in the United Kingdom, using data from the Whitehall II cohort. Informal caregiving and low back pain will be self-reported, with low back pain also documented using the International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision. Survival analysis methods will be used, with adjustment for sociodemographic, lifestyle and health-related confounding factors. Very good proficiency in R programming is essential.
