This 36-month PhD project at CRESS U1153 Team METHODS in Paris will examine how equity, diversity and inclusion relevant patient characteristics are measured in late-phase clinical trials, identify and appraise candidate instruments, and evaluate selected measures in a large e-cohort of patients with chronic conditions. The doctoral candidate will publish findings in peer-reviewed international journals, integrate them into a doctoral thesis, complete structured EDICT doctoral and network-wide training, and undertake two secondment placements. Applicants need a Master's degree or equivalent in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, psychology or a closely related discipline, a strong academic record, quantitative research training, and very good written and spoken English. Experience with systematic reviews or clinical trial methodology, measurement science, EDI in clinical research, and statistical software such as R or Stata is an asset. The position starts in September 2026 and includes full-time employment under MSCA rules, paid leave, social benefits, mobility and possible family allowances.
