Sills Cummis & Gross is seeking an In-House Collections Attorney to work closely with the firm's General Counsel and finance team across the full collections lifecycle, from client outreach through litigation and post-judgment collection. Responsibilities include reviewing receivables and payment histories, prioritizing accounts, communicating with clients about overdue invoices, drafting letters, negotiating settlements and payment plans, handling collection litigation through trial, managing post-judgment proceedings, collaborating with finance and legal teams, providing updates and reporting, and maintaining compliant documentation. Requirements include a J.D. from an accredited law school, admission in both New Jersey and New York, 3 to 6 years of experience in collections, debt recovery, or a similar legal field, knowledge of state and federal collections laws, and strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Experience with finance or billing teams is a plus. The role offers a full-time preferred schedule, with a reduced schedule of 3 to 4 days per week considered for the right candidate, and a hybrid environment requiring full-time employees to work at least 3 days per week in the office.
