For the 2026-2027 school year in Bushwick, Brooklyn. This full-time, on-site role combines teaching and science department leadership. Teaching duties include designing and teaching three sections each day using Universal Design for Learning, building relationships with students, participating in meetings and professional development, communicating regularly with caregivers, holding weekly office hours, teaching one week of Intersession enrichment, and serving as an Advisor. Coaching duties include observing and providing feedback to Science Department teachers, collaborating on vertical alignment, supporting science curriculum development and delivery, advising on scheduling and programming, assisting with NGSS integration across subjects, attending weekly coaches' meetings, monitoring department data, and supporting teachers outside the Science department as directed. Additional duties include recruitment of high-performing staff and other duties assigned by the Principal. Requirements include a minimum bachelor's degree in the subject area, with a master's degree preferred, at least three years of teaching experience in an urban public or charter school setting preferred, a record of high achievement and accountability, alignment with MESA's values and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and New York State certification strongly preferred. Spanish language skills are a plus. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Salary is $80,000 to $110,000 based on experience.
