SpaceLocker is seeking a Head of Engineering to structure and lead the entire technical team across hardware, electronics, embedded software, mechanics and production. The role involves managing a multidisciplinary engineering team, acting as the technical reference for architecture, materials, components and processes, driving production scale-up and industrialization, maintaining rigor across specification, design and AIV activities, owning the engineering product roadmap with the CTO, structuring product line management with an end-to-end system vision, leading HR reviews, performance assessments and technical recruiting, and unblocking critical technical issues. The position covers multiple missions from R&D to in-orbit operations, including AIT and systems engineering, within a fast-moving aerospace company working with payload and platform manufacturers, operators and institutions. Applicants should have about 10 years of experience in space or avionics engineering, experience managing a technical team in the space or aerospace sector, broad knowledge of space hardware and embedded software, fluent English, natural leadership, autonomy, accountability, rigour and strong communication skills. EU or NATO citizenship is required, excluding the USA. Compensation is 60,000 to 80,000 EUR before tax, plus a 10% performance bonus, with five weeks of paid vacation and hybrid remote work.
