The Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization seeks a Director of Public Affairs and Communications to serve on its leadership team. The role leads communications, public engagement, branding, web and digital content, and stakeholder relationships; oversees Editorial, Graphics, and Communications and Engagement teams; develops communications, brand, and engagement strategies; improves workflows and public-facing content; promotes agency studies and accomplishments; advises on executive and internal communications; and helps shape consistent agency-wide messaging. Qualifications include expertise in public sector communications, branding, marketing, public relations, editorial processes, and visual design; team management experience; project, campaign, and meeting management skills; community and employee engagement experience; strong verbal and written communication skills; and experience developing budgets and managing resources. A bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least five years of progressively responsible managerial experience, or a master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience, including at least five years of progressively responsible managerial experience, is required.
