Our client, a rapidly scaling private investment firm, is seeking a Chief Legal Officer to serve as the senior-most legal leader and strategic advisor to the founders and executive team. This individual will help institutionalize the firm, build infrastructure, and support continued growth across private equity and venture capital strategies. Responsibilities include leading legal matters across fund formation, transactions, governance, and corporate initiatives; serving as the firm's primary legal authority and strategic advisor; building scalable legal, compliance, and governance infrastructure; overseeing outside counsel; supporting regulatory readiness, SEC examinations, and compliance initiatives; establishing processes and operational discipline; and providing practical, commercially minded guidance. Qualifications include a J.D. and active bar membership, 20+ years of top-tier law firm training with in-house leadership experience, deep private equity and venture capital fund experience, a strong transactional background, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
