Directly oversee maintenance and janitorial staff, reporting to the property manager and property supervisor. Responsibilities include training staff, supervising employees and contractors, maintaining records and inventories, monitoring and repairing building equipment and operating systems, maintaining common areas, performing plumbing, electrical, sewer, painting, and carpentry repairs, and properly using cleaning agents, chemicals, power tools, and hand tools. Shifts vary according to property needs, onsite housing may be offered, and the position is always on call for emergencies. Applicants should have at least 10 years of maintenance experience and should have or obtain a Building Repairers Journeyman Card or Stationary Engineer's License through SEIU Local #1.
