Provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families through the Sands Helpline and other bereavement support services. Responsibilities include providing sensitive telephone, email, digital and social media support, documenting information from calls and emails, supporting the Online Community, contributing to bereavement support resources and communications, and attending clinical supervision, meetings and training. The role requires an understanding of and empathy with the death of a baby, proven ability to support people experiencing bereavement, excellent listening and communication skills, confidentiality and safeguarding awareness, accurate record keeping, strong research and time management skills, and the ability to work professionally, collaboratively and with appropriate boundaries. Previous bereavement support experience and a BACP-accredited counselling qualification are desirable. Home-based, with occasional travel within the UK. The role is 26 hours per week on a permanent contract, with regular rota shifts covering Helpline opening hours.
