Responsible to the Deputy Head (Pastoral), the After School Supervisor ensures pupils remaining on site after the end of the school day are supervised in the Library and maintains an appropriate learning environment. Duties include attending to minor first aid issues, communicating issues to pastoral staff, supporting the Librarian with shelving and tidying books, assisting with Duke of Edinburgh Award administration, supporting the Director of Sport with administration for After School Clubs, supporting the Assistant Head with professional development review administration, and carrying out other administrative tasks as required. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and administrative skills, be able to motivate and encourage pupils, work with initiative, remain calm when managing competing priorities or emergencies, and have good GCSE or A-level results or equivalent. Experience of working in a school or similar environment and with young people is required. First aid training will be provided. The successful candidate must demonstrate personal integrity, honesty, a pleasant and helpful manner, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupils' welfare. The role is part time, working Monday to Thursday from 3.00pm to 7.00pm and Friday from 3.00pm to 6.00pm, with job-share arrangements considered. Salary depends on experience and qualifications.
