Lead outdoor trips, clinics, and programs in and around New England for the Department of Physical Education Recreation and Dance. Responsibilities include leading day trips such as New England exploration, beginner hikes, and sunset kayaking, supervising participant safety, creating an inclusive environment, attending pre-trip meetings, completing trip reports, maintaining communication with program management, managing trip logistics and outdoor gear, following risk management and emergency procedures, addressing group dynamics, managing injuries and medical needs, arranging transportation, and modeling Leave No Trace principles and environmental stewardship. Preferred qualifications include a desire to learn and lead outdoors, excellent communication skills, experience with outdoor activities or group leadership, current Basic First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to become certified, strong judgment and safety awareness, outdoor leadership experience, a valid driver's license, experience driving 12-passenger vans, and Boston University second-year student status. Expected training includes LNT 101, fall assistant trip leader training, optional backpacking training, and spring trip leader training. The position reports to the Manager of Outdoor Programs. Pay is $16 per hour.
