Details.
Officials officiate intramural sports, develop communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, and receive schedules based on their availability. Applicants attend a general officials meeting and sport-specific training sessions, where rule knowledge and comfort on the field are evaluated. Staff selection depends on returning officials and staffing needs. New officials generally receive 1 to 2 shifts per week, while experienced officials may receive more based on availability, experience, performance, number of officials on staff, and the number of sports they can officiate.
