Provides support to the Physician and Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in delivering patient care and ensures daily clinic functions. Duties include coordinating patient care, managing appointments, obtaining insurance information, conducting triage and documenting vital signs, sterilizing instruments, preparing examination rooms, providing HIV, Hepatitis and STI education, screening and counseling, maintaining electronic medical records, supporting medical treatment, managing supplies, educating patients about buprenorphine and other drug treatment options, and maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Requirements include New York State Phlebotomist certification, extensive knowledge of HIV, HCV, STI prevention and harm reduction practices, phlebotomy experience, knowledge of blood processing and handling, experience with HIV prevention, STI, mental health and substance use, teamwork, organization and commitment to a diverse environment. Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.
