Facilitates educational sessions to improve community health and conducts rapid HIV, HCV and STI testing. Duties include street-based outreach and participant recruitment, individual and group health education on HIV, Hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infections, referrals and follow-up with clients and facilities, overdose prevention education and training, meetings and required trainings. Requirements include at least two years providing health education services in New York City communities affected by HIV/AIDS, homelessness and substance use, familiarity with HIV/AIDS programs, knowledge of harm reduction practices and theory, strong organizational, oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and bilingual Spanish skills. Individuals with personal experience related to substance use or HIV/AIDS are encouraged to apply.
