Summer internship at SV Law, acting for local authorities in educational placement disputes before the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, as well as schools in disability discrimination cases and clients in broader education matters. The role involves working closely with solicitors, substantial client contact, attending meetings, taking witness statements, legal research and analysis, and, for more experienced paralegals, supported advocacy at telephone and routine substantive SENDIST hearings. Applicants must have at least an undergraduate degree in any subject, preferably a high 2:1 or First Class, or a merit or distinction if the GDL has been completed. Legal or relevant work experience is desirable but not essential. Confident verbal and written communication, good IT, research and analytical skills, a social conscience, interest in public policy, strong academics, a keen work ethic and motivation to succeed in or explore the legal profession are required. The internship lasts 4 days, Monday to Thursday, and is paid at £14 an hour gross under PAYE, with no holiday entitlement for summer interns. Internships are offered throughout July, August and September 2026, with formal assessment for a possible full-time paralegal placement for one year from October 2026. The placement is at Impact Hub Euston, 1 Triton Square, London, NW1 3DX.
