Provides holistic care for middle school students and supports their academic success, social success, and personal goal setting. Responsibilities include ensuring homework completion, encouraging independent reading, creating and implementing age-appropriate enrichment activities, coordinating and leading monthly Explorations to universities, colleges, and workplaces, engaging students in respectful play, incorporating Christian teaching into the classroom, communicating with parents, completing yearly progress reports, maintaining the classroom, participating in special events, and supporting organizational activities. Candidates must meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care licensing requirements, complete required professional development and EEC training, pass a CORI/SORI background check, maintain current CPR and First Aid certification, provide an annual doctor's note, and have strong communication skills and passion for ACCESS' mission. A bachelor's degree in elementary education or a related child development field, English and Chinese bilingual ability, relevant classroom experience, and mature Christian faith are preferred. The role follows the Boston Public Schools academic calendar, includes training and planning sessions starting August 30, and requires approximately 20 hours per week, including weekday on-site hours, staff meetings, supervision, Bible lessons, enrichment activities, homework support, and family dinners.
