Keyhole surgery to release the inflamed and stuck shoulder capsule in cases of frozen shoulder, with the aim of improving shoulder movement, reducing pain and helping to speed up the thawing phase. The procedure is generally performed under general anaesthetic combined with local anaesthesia or a nerve block. A steroid injection may be given into the joint as part of the procedure. Physiotherapy and a steroid injection are possible non-surgical alternatives that may be tried first.
