Details.
Upper and lower eyelid rejuvenation surgery, also known as an eyelid tuck. Upper eyelid surgery removes excess tissue, which may include skin, muscle and fat. Lower eyelid surgery uses an incision inside the eyelid. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, with possible oral pre-medication to relax you. Pre-operative planning includes stopping aspirin, anti-inflammatories, certain vitamins and herbal preparations at least 10 days before surgery, and arranging transport home. Expect bruising and swelling for about one week and arrange one week off work. Post-operative care includes ice cool eye mask applications, keeping the head elevated, avoiding water on the eyelids for 48 hours, avoiding strenuous activity for at least two weeks, and attending a one week post-operative check.
