Visit clients at home to help with food shopping, provide social support and companionship, take clients on outings in their local community, and support families and carers by spending time with their loved one. Volunteers need to provide at least four hours of support a week between 8.30am and 4.30pm on weekdays, be aged 18 or over, complete a National Police check paid for by Silverchain, and commit to a minimum of six months. Good communication and listening skills are ideal, while life experience caring for someone at the end of their life is beneficial but not essential. Training is provided, hours are flexible, and volunteering can contribute towards Centrelink requirements.
