Provide supervised day to day clinical management of ambulatory and admitted Oral Maxillofacial Surgery patients while fulfilling Medical Board of Australia pre-registration training requirements. The role includes after-hours, on-call and recall roster participation, operating theatre and outpatient services, and a 0.3 FTE allocation to Oral Health Services clinics providing comprehensive person-centred dental care, with a focus on complex medical cases and dentoalveolar surgical care. Key responsibilities include urgent and emergency care, patient admissions, clinical assessment and management, documentation, investigations, medication prescribing under senior guidance, discharge planning, education of team members and students, continuing education, multidisciplinary teamwork, ward rounds, outpatient and theatre sessions, on-call duties and research. Applicants must be registered with AHPRA as both a Dental Practitioner and Medical Practitioner and have postgraduate experience in an environment where similar Oral Maxillofacial Surgery is practised. Adaptability, sound decision making under pressure, effective teamwork, professional and ethical behaviour, and participation in after-hours, on-call and recall rosters are required. An intention to apply for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training is desirable. Police or criminal history checks, a Working with Children Check if requested, immunity status clearance and Staff Care clearance are additional requirements.
