The position provides supervised clinical and operative experience in maxillofacial trauma, oral surgery, and head and neck surgery for doctors pursuing a surgical career pathway. Duties include admitting, managing and discharging patients under supervision; participating in facial trauma management, oral surgery, head and neck malignancy care, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and head and neck infection management; participating in the 24-hour on-call roster; providing clinical supervision to junior medical staff; contributing to radiology review meetings, surgical planning, reports, research, education, professional development, quality assurance, peer review, continuing medical education, audit, risk management and multidisciplinary team meetings. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia, demonstrate commitment to high quality patient care, research capability and interest, communication skills, and teamwork and collaboration. Prior experience in maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery, ENT, general surgery or a related surgical specialty is desirable. The position is fixed term from 1 February 2027 to 30 January 2028, located in Darwin and Palmerston, with a salary of $122,264 to $153,195.
